Ecological transition and sustainable development of associations: let's go!

Friday, 4 February 2022

On 27 and 28 January 2022, POUR LA SOLIDARITÉ-PLS participated in the launch of the new European project TEDDA in Lille. This proposes to build tools to raise awareness and improve the capacities of associative actors to engage sustainably in the ecological transition of their activities and their structure.

Associations are important players in life in society, the heart of what is called civil society. Understanding the keys to the success of associations that are transitioning and equipping those that want it is a major challenge for the coming years. The TEDDA project aims to address this issue. It is aimed at a variety of small and medium-sized associations (between 0 and 25 employees) with local roots and in particular, the heads of networks in charge of supporting and training popular education associations in many areas such as integration through work, through the social and artistic life of vulnerable people. In all, this strategic partnership funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ programme brings together five partners in three European countries: Belgium, Spain and France.

The project kick-off meeting took place on 27 and 28 January 2022 in Lille (France), at the premises of the Maison Régionale de l'Environnement et des Solidarités (MRES) - one of the three French members of the consortium. These two days allowed the partners to discuss the working method of the project for the next two years and in particular on the progress of the first two expected results which are the design of a gallery of practices and inspiring portraits and the creation of fun media on the ecological transition of these associations.

These productions will be aimed at managers as well as employees and members of associations.

As a reminder, the operational objectives of the TEDDA project are as follows:

  • Identify and make visible the behaviors and actions that place ecological transition and the reduction of the ecological footprint at the heart of the activity of associations, both internally and externally;
  • Promote the inspiring good practices of associations working to initiate or strengthen their ecological transition, both at the structural level and at the individual level;
  • Create innovative, fun and attractive tools that allow associations to identify with their peers, to demystify the ecological transition and the changes in practices to be implemented, and to show them the key criteria for success.

Only positive for this beginning of the project! You will be kept informed of its progress on the POUR LA SOLIDARITE-PLS website. On the way tomorrow (in tandem!) towards a more sustainable European associative world!
